Tuesday to Saturday we offer an A La Carte Lunch and Dinner Menu

Sunday is a more traditional luncheon with a choice of 6 starters and main courses. We always have vegetarian dishes available and, if your guests are on a special diet, please let us know in advance and we will be happy to accommodate their needs.

On the first floor we have two private dining rooms suitable for parties or business meetings. The Oak Room, probably one of the most charming dining rooms in East Anglia, seats up to 12 people, and the Market Room, a delightfully light and airy room overlooking Market Place seats up to 32. Let us know if you would like more information – we would be delighted to show you around.

In the Courtyard, we have converted the old stable block into eight lovely bedrooms all with private facilities. The Oak Bedroom boasts an oak four-poster bed with a free standing bath in the air conditioned bedroom and a super en suite shower room – ideal for a romantic evening. The Pine Room has a large bath with “his & hers” hand basins set in marble, whilst the Brass Room has an antique Brass Bed with antique furniture. All the rooms have an individual appeal.

All the bedrooms are non-smoking as is our bar, dining room, conservatory; and private dining rooms.

We are situated in the historic Essex market town of Great Dunmow. With nearby attractions such as Audley End House, and the picturesque towns of Thaxted and Saffron Walden, it makes for a delightful stay.

It’s convenient too – we are only eight miles from the M11, Junction 8 and London Stansted Airport where there is a 40-minute express rail link to London Liverpool Street.

We have some excellent Taxi companies in Dunmow, but they are always very busy, so please, please don’t rely on us finding you one at short notice, especially at weekends. Let us know in advance and we will be happy to help you book one.

We do hope you enjoy your time with us. We are always eager to maintain and improve our standards so if something is not quite right please do let us know.

Thank you.
